JOE ANDRULAITIS

Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1992 from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a concentration in Urban Design. He was a partner at Cearnal Andrulaitis LLP until establishing Andrulaitis + Mixon Architects in 2015.

 

With over 23 years of practicing architecture in Santa Barbara, Joe has gained extensive knowledge on a wide variety of project types. His strong project management skills provide the experience necessary to maintain demanding project schedules and develop creative and meaningful design solutions within limited budgets. 

 

Joe's rich history of commercial and residential projects include the corporate headquarters for Santa Barbara Bank & Trust (now Union Bank); the County of Santa Barbara District Attorney Building; El Carrillo, a national award-winning affordable housing project; the Canary Hotel in downtown Santa Barbara; Bella Riviera, Cottage Hospital's 115 unit workforce housing project at the former St. Francis hospital site; the Santa Barbara Public Market; and UCSB's 38 unit housing project at North Campus.

 

Joe has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2003 and challenges his firm, his clients and the community to create sustainable architecture throughout the South Coast. His recent sustainable achievements include the LEED Platinum Alma Del Pueblo, LEED Gold Santa Barbara Public Market and LEED Gold UCSB North Campus Faculty Housing Project. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and served as President of the Santa Barbara chapter in 2006.

 

Outside of this professional life, Joe enjoys trail running, playing soccer, skiing and sharing the outdoors with his wife and two children and is currently coaching his son's soccer team for the fall season.
